Evita Bergmane graduated from the University of Latvia in 2003 with a Professional degree in Finance management. In 2007 she obtained her ACCA qualification. She is a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus and a practicing auditor in Cyprus. Evita speaks Latvian, Russian, English and Spanish.
In 2000 she started working in the industry as a Chief accountant for a major consumer goods company in Latvia and Estonia, which afterwards formed part of Cadbury Schweppes group.
In 2005 she was invited to join one of the biggest Cyprus audit firms and has been working in the audit and assurance field since then and progressed by 2011 to a position of the Director of the Audit department.
Evita has been in charge of provision of audit and assurance services to International clients, as well as advising on compliance and providing guidance on different local and cross-border tax matters. She has been handling also various overseas operations of the firm and opening a support office of the Cyprus firm in Latvia.
Since July 2012 Evita is a Managing Director of Canaima Tax & Audit Ltd - a company providing Audit and various client support and consultancy services.
She has extensive experience in accounting, audit and assurance services industry, as well as in-depth knowledge of tax legislation of several jurisdictions.
