Dr Aaron Farrugia is a Maltese lawyer and economist, entrepreneur and former Government Minister, with a career spanning public leadership, international diplomacy and global business advisory. He served in three ministerial portfolios within the Government of Malta and still serves as Member of Parliament and represents Malta internationally as Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), contributing to maritime policy and international governance at global level. He is an alumnus of the prestigious U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and has been recognised among European Commission`s “40 Under 40,” reflecting his influence as a reform-oriented policymaker and emerging global leader. His academic background in law and economics underpins his expertise in regulatory frameworks, international policy, economic development and cross-border investment environments.
Transitioning from public office to entrepreneurship, Dr Farrugia is the Founder and Chairman of ECONOMIQ, an international advisory and investment platform headquartered in Malta and operating across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Through ECONOMIQ he advises high-net-worth individuals, corporations and governments on investment migration, EU market entry, regulatory strategy, cross-border structuring and strategic projects, positioning Malta as a global hub for mobility, finance and investment.
