Ayxan Asadov has been practicing law for more than 25 years, having started at one of the Big Four accountancy firms in Baku as a legal consultant. In 1997, he joined one of international law firms at its Almaty office prior to transferring to the newly opened Baku office in April 1998. In 2009, Ayxan became the first local Azerbaijani partner in the same firm. As of 2013, Ayxan joined a leading law firm in Azerbaijan as a managing partner.
Starting 2023, Ayxan established own practice, Bureau 28a.
Ayxan advises on all aspects of commercial law, including contracts, taxation, antitrust, and customs laws. He advises on specific industry aspects of oil and gas, infrastructure, renewable, and mining projects, including acquisition and disposal of assets. In his career, Ayxan participated in several high-profile contract negotiations and renegotiations, such as production sharing, loan, and offtake agreements, as well as disputes, including issuing an opinion in an investment arbitration and enforcement under an international sale of goods transaction.
