Since 2004, the Swiss Academy is a centre of excellence for business in the Middle Easte through the transfer and exchange of knowledge from Switzerland and other leading jurisdictions.
A main course is the Offshore course where lawyers, accountants and corporate service providers learn about various financial centres in the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East. In addition, they are made familiar with the AML and compliance rules which are enforced by the authorities. Successful participants who pass the final exam receive a diploma, approved by the relevant Dubai authorities. In the past this course has been regularly attended by free zone officials of various UAE Emirates.
A new course is addressed to lawyers in Europe, Egypt, Lebanon, India who would like to start working in the UAE and who need to have a basic understanding of the UAE legal framework.
Further training sessions are held about the international Economic Substance rules, which are of great benefit to the UAE, because many companies from offshore centres in the Caribbean and other places migrate to the UAE, where everybody is welcome and can benefit from all the advantages the UAE offers to international companies.
